A minor girl was raped and impregnated by her brother-in-law in MP's Khargone. The incident came to light when the girl complained about having severe cramps in the stomach. Later, the doctors revealed that she was three months pregnant. The police immediately reached the spot and recorded her statement.

In her statement to Police She revealed that her brother-in-law often used to visit her place. One night, when she went out to feed the cattle, the accused raped her by dragging her to another room. Thinking  that this incident might tarnish her image, she kept quiet and did not file any complaint. However, the police have now registered a case under the POCSO Act.

The accused name Govind is a resident of Barwanu and a father of three children. As soon as the accused finds that the police is searching for him. He fled away. Now, police is looking into the matter and the search for the accused begun.

In a similar incident in which a stepfather raped the minor in MP’s Dewas, the court has sentenced a man to four life terms “till his last breath” for raping his minor stepdaughter. Additional district judge (special court) Dr Mahzabeen Khan convicted the 40-year-old under IPC section 376 (3), and three sections of Pocso Act. “The court awarded the stepfather imprisonment till his last breath in all four sections.
