Rohit Sharma, popularly known as 'Hitman' in cricket, is very happy to be made the brand ambassador of the iconic La Liga. On this, Rohit Sharma said that when he was asked to become the brand ambassador of the league, he felt that he was on the moon. He said, 'I have seen a lot of football matches in my childhood days.' When Rohit was asked who is the best footballer in Indian cricket team ..? So his reply was, 'I think MS Dhoni is the best footballer in our team.'
Rohit Sharma said, 'One of my relatives (Brother in Law) is fond of football. He wanted to get into professional football, but the infrastructure was not available at that time. But all facilities are available these days. It takes time for a game to develop. Where were we in cricket in 1930 and now look where we have reached. I hope football does not take so long. Asked at which place in football do they like to play as a warm-up before a cricket match ..? Rohit Sharma said, 'The captain decides who will play where. I like to play as a midfielder, because it is the most challenging place. Football makes our body active, only then it is adopted for warm-up.
La Liga India Managing Director Jose Antonio Kachaja said, “We are eyeing to increase the fan base to become number-1 in India. India is an important market for La Liga from a global perspective. We came to India only in 2017, so that we can understand the atmosphere here. It is clear that there is a great passion for football in India. Rohit Sharma is a perfect example of this. Despite being a big player of cricket, he shows enthusiasm for football and is a fan of La Liga.
