Indian legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni relishes a huge fan following and there is no doubt that people from far and wide go the extra mile to get seen once by the Chennai Super Kings 'thala'. Though, this one of the fans of MS Dhoni whose name is Ajay Gill has literally gone the extra mile to meet Dhoni. However, to his dismay, he couldn't meet the former Indian cricket team skipper.

Let us tell you that Ajay Gill, who is 18-years-old, walked 1,400 km from his village Jalan Kheda in the Hisar district of Haryana to meet Dhoni in the Jharkhand capital Ranchi. According to Gill, he wanted to meet Dhoni just for 10 minutes for which he walked for 16 days since July 29. He works as a barber in Hisar. He was waiting outside Dhoni's Simaliya farmhouse on the outskirts of Ranchi. However, Dhoni is not in Ranchi currently and is with the CSK squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

A Telegraph report stated that Gill got the attention of passersby in Ranchi because of his look. His hair was coloured yellow, orange, dark blue and light blue it was like as the CSK colours - and he had also partially tonsured his head in such a manner that “Dhoni” was written on one side and his nickname “Mahi” on the other side. However, Gill was resolute about waiting for Dhoni to return. According to reports, a young businessman convinced him to return as he would not be back for the next three months. He also booked a flight ticket to Delhi for Gill. Such is Dhoni's aura and the extent to which his fans can go to just catch a glimpse of their favourite captain.
