Lucknow: Abbas Ansari, the MLA son of mafia Mukhtar Ansari, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) late on Friday (November 4). Earlier, ED questioned Ansari for 9 hours at his Prayagraj office. Abbas was summoned by the ED to record his statement in the money laundering case registered against Mukhtar Ansari. After recording the statement of Mukhtar's brother Afzal Ansari, the second round of questioning of Abbas Ansari was started, after which the investigating agency arrested him.

According to the report, Abbas was first taken into custody after questioning, then after the paperwork was completed, his arrest was shown. During this, a heavy police force was also deployed outside the ED office. Let us inform you that, Suheldev is an MLA from the Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) from the Abbas Mau assembly seat. The investigating agency issued a lookout notice against Abbas last month. The ED registered a money laundering case against Mukhtar Ansari in March 2021. After this, the agency questioned Mukhtar's brother and BSP MP Afzal Ansari on 9 May this year, then Mukhtar's elder brother Sibgatullah Ansari and MLA nephew Shoaib Ansari on 10 May and Abbas Ansari and younger son Umar Ansari on 20 May.

Let us tell you that a case has been registered against Mukhtar Ansari for taking possession of government land by preparing forged papers in 2020, fraudulently acquiring property in Lucknow, and fraudulently withdrawing MLA funds. Based on these three cases, the ED has also registered a case of money laundering against Mukhtar Ansari.
