Mumbai: A fire broke out on the 10th floor of a multi-storey building situated in Worli area of Mumbai on the night of 25 August 2020 amid the Covid-19 crisis. With the help of Mumbai Police and Fire Brigade, who reached the spot, 11 people trapped above have been safely evacuated. It was a matter of relief that no loss of property and life reported in this incident. Officials said that with the help of 6 trains of the fire brigade, the fire has been controlled. The cause of the fire is being investigated. 

A 5-storey building built on the banks of a pond collapsed in Raigad district of Maharashtra on Monday before the fire broke out in Mumbai. 15 people have died in the building collapse. By the night of 25 August 2020, bodies of 15 people had been removed from the wreckage of the Tariq Building. 8 teams of NDRF are engaged in the rescue operation. Police have registered a case against five people in this case.

Currently, there are 12,53,273 Covid infected patients in-home quarantine in Maharashtra. 33,668 people have been institutionally quarantined. There are 1,65,921 active cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra.
