New Delhi: The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The current champions Mumbai Indians team will start their campaign to save the title while playing at home. Talking to the media, an official of Delhi Capitals has told that the date of commencement has been fixed for 29 March. The official said, "I have been told that the 2020 edition of the IPL will begin in Mumbai on March 29."

This would mean that some teams playing the match in the beginning will not be able to get the services of players from Australia, England and New Zealand. This is because at that time the T20 series between Australia and New Zealand will be going on and similarly England and Sri Lanka teams will be playing the Test series, which will conclude on 31 March.
