This year, due to COVID19, the tournament was postponed in March and now with the help of the Indian government, the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the cancellation of the ICC Cricket World Cup, there is space for the tournament to go ahead in September.

However, the venue for the tournament will not be in India, but this year as a one off it will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The new hosts for the tournament are very excited to showcase the event and with a huge global audience ready to watch the event, there is hope it can still be as exciting as ever.

With no home advantage for any team this year, there is a possibility the Mumbai Indians will not have it all their own way. Naturally with a superb record in the tournament and current champions, Mumbai Indians are the ones to look out for winning three of the last four finals.

In 2019 the Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings in the final winning by a single run. They scored 149 runs losing 8 wickets and Chennai Super Kings could only manage 148 for the loss of 7 wickets. The man of the match Kieron Pollard scored 41 runs which gave Mumbai Indians a respectable total to defend. Shane Watson scored 80 runs for Chennai but it wasn't enough to stop the Mumbai Indians from winning the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings did come out on top in 2018 and this time Shane Watson once again excelled with the bat in the final. He scored 50 runs off 32 balls and was the key player for the winning side. After coming so close last year the Chennai Super Kings are looking to get their hands back on the trophy.

Mumbai Indians favourites for IPL in 2020:

With their excellent record in the Indian Premier League over the past few years Mumbai Indians who are favourites to land another title this year. They are 400 to retain their title and win the tournament for a 5th time. With Rohit Sharma as captain, they have an experienced player who knows how to win and can be a great leader on the pitch. Kieron Pollard is likely to once again be a star player for Mumbai this year providing he can travel to UAE for the tournament and this will be a massive boost given his is an exceptional talent in the short form of cricket.

Chennai Super Kings are captained by MS Dhoni who also has huge experience in twenty over cricket and they will bring together a strong squad to deliver a good tournament with a clear vision of regaining the title. Shane Watson and Dwayne Bravo will be looking to travel to UAE for the tournament and should they be confirmed then you can assume they will do very well with the bat and with Josh Hazelwood all set to be their top bowler, they have a great chance. Chennai Super Kings can be backed at 500 this year.

Hyderabad Sunrisers second favourites this year. They won the tournament in 2016 and will have Kane Williamson as their captain and other stars include David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. They price is 450 to win the tournament and could be the ones to watch given it's a neutral venue and the pressure won't be on them.
