Captain Rohit Rajpal of the Indian Davis Cup team has been selected as the President of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association for a tenure of four years. In the annual general meeting of DLTA on Wednesday, Rajpal was selected unanimously on this post. Former Davis Cup player Balram Singh has been re-elected, general secretary.
Rajeev Khanna, who was the treasurer during the past tenure, will now be the general secretary. Aditya Khanna, son of Anil Khanna, vice-president of International Tennis Federation and former president of All India Tennis Association, will be the new treasurer. Among the many vice presidents of DLTA, Delhi BJP's first chief Satish Upadhyay is also included.
Anil Khanna, who was recently forced to relinquish the post of AITF lifetime president due to violation of the National Sports Code, will continue to be the lifetime president of DLTA. Delhi Public School chairman Narinder Kumar has also been made life president. State Sports Federations and Institutions are not yet covered under the National Sports Code. He has been elected to the post of president once again.
