Mumbai Police booked Naik's aides;Arshi Qureshi and Rizwan Khan

Mumbai, A case has been registered by Mumbai Police for forceful conversion and radicalisation against aides of Zakir Naik, are Arshi Qureshi and Rizwan Khan.

Currently, the duo is in custody of Kerala Police, face similar charges there. Kerala Police arrested them last month for alleged radicalisation of 21 youths from the state who recently fled to allegedly join the Islamic State (IS).

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Saxena said, “We have registered a case under Section 13 and 38 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act read with Section 120 (B) of IPC against four people, including Qureshi and Khan”.

As per the sources, the case was filed after the father of one of the 21 youths lodged a complaint with Mumbai Police. In his complaint, Abdul Kader, a resident of the city, alleged that Khan and Qureshi radicalised his son Ashfaque to join the IS.

Source said, “The case has been transferred to Mumbai Crime Branch”.

“If Zakir Naik’s name surfaces, he will also be questioned”,said sources.
