In 2016, when a man was trying to jump off the railing of the Sea Link, a video of him being caught went viral. He didn't know how to swim, but he couldn't stop himself from helping people. Sometimes he would leave for work in the middle of eating and tell me not to come in between my work. His work was like a mother to him. Chetan was also an expert in removing bodies trapped in vehicles and taking them to the hospital, Chetali said. Chetan's colleague Vivek Sawant says, "Chetan and I together have saved many people. We have a picture from last year, in which we are being honoured. He always told me to help people, but also to take care of myself. Whenever there was a crisis on the Sea Link, Chetan would rush for help even though he was not on duty. Chetali said she always prioritised his work. He didn't know how to swim, yet he saved people. We last spoke on Wednesday. He told me there was an accident and he was assisting someone. The wife said that with the death of her husband Chetan, the future of her four-year-old son Durvank is uneasy. She wants the government to think about and assist the son's career, as Chetan was the only earning member in the house. Chetan's mother Asha is also in the family. Worli police said the driver of the SUV car, Bilkia, was arrested for speeding under Section 304 (causing death by negligence).
