Several offices in Mumbai's prominent Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) have advised their employees to work remotely until July 15 due to the upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The youngest son of Reliance Industries Ltd. Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Anant, and Radhika, daughter of Viren Merchant, are set to wed on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC. The celebrations will continue until July 14, leading to traffic diversions and restricted access in the area.

This decision has caused some inconvenience for local residents and office workers in Mumbai. Traffic restrictions around BKC, Mumbai's bustling financial district, will be in place from July 12 to 15. This area hosts major financial institutions including India's major stock exchange, the markets regulator, and numerous international banks.

The wedding has led to a significant increase in hotel bookings and prices across Mumbai. Luxury hotels in BKC are reportedly charging up to Rs.1 lakh per night, with venues like Trident and Oberoi fully booked from July 10 to 14. The grand event is attracting a star-studded guest list from Bollywood, Hollywood, business, and sports circles.

In the lead-up to the wedding, the Ambani family organized a 'mameru' ceremony, a traditional Gujarati pre-wedding ritual, on July 3. This was followed by a lavish sangeet ceremony on July 7, featuring a performance by international pop sensation Justin Bieber, who entertained guests with hits like 'Baby', 'Peaches', and 'Love Yourself'.

The wedding is expected to see attendance from celebrities and global business leaders, including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, boxer Mike Tyson, HSBC Holdings plc Chairman Mark Tucker, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Chairman Jay Lee, and former UK leaders Boris Johnson and Tony Blair. Other notable guests include Saudi Aramco’s Amin Nasser, BP Plc's Murray Auchincloss, GSK Plc's Emma Walmsley, Lockheed Martin's Jim Taiclet, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
