Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former CM Mayawati addressed an election rally in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Mayawati said that after the Congress, the people of UP have been unhappy even under the rule of Samajwadi Party (SP) and BJP. Mayawati said that the BSP alone is fighting this election on all the seats on its own. He said that BSP is fighting this election to form the government with full majority. He said that only tension has increased in the state in the name of religion.

Mayawati attacked the Congress in the beginning of her rally. He said that on the death of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, the central government of Congress did not keep a single day of national mourning. He said that whenever the Congress party is in power, it does not take care of Dalits and women. Mayawati said that under the SP's government, goons, mafia had ruled in UP, due to which there was always a situation of tension in UP and development work was also limited to a particular area.

Mayawati further said that when the BJP government was formed, she thought that the decisions of the SP would be changed, but it did not happen. He said that BJP has to be stopped from coming to power, because its policy and working style is casteist, capitalist and with narrow agenda of RSS. Mayawati said that the BJP government has made the people of Muslim society most unhappy.
