According to media reports, the film is closely related to Sujatha's love story played by Sufi and Aditi Rao Hydari, portraying Dev Mohan. In this film, the actress appeared in the role of a dumb girl, where Aditi Rao Hydari says about her character, "When you remain silent all your life, you create your world with that silence somewhere. You can tell a lot without words and doing it on the screen is a very lovely experience. I could do long shots and since this character is about inner feeling, I was able to do my scenes with more ease."

Aditi further said, "The director and the DoP gave me complete freedom to work in my own way. Whether it was to present my gestures or to use the frame in my own way, I had complete freedom. I also learned sign language. Directed and written by Naranipuzha Shanavas, Sufiyam Sujatayum is produced by Vijay Babu under his banner of the Friday Film House.
