New Delhi [India] December 27 (NT): Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kumar said on Wednesday that 'NAMO' (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) is the "new Santa" for "new India" who brings good news for the people.

Talking to media here, the union minister said, "NAMO is the new Santa who brings good news for a new India. In the last three and a half years, the prime minister has only worked hard for the nation and its people." quoted by ANI.

 Ananth Kumar's statement came after Congress leader and former Union minister Manish Tewari took a jibe at the prime minister on Tuesday by connecting him with Santa Claus, who in place of giving gifts has stolen the money of common man.

A day before, in the row of jibes at PM Modi: Manish Tiwari from his twitter handle cracked a sneer which read

"All over the world at this time an old man with a white beard creeps in your house through chimney and puts money in your socks

In India an old man with a white beard crept into your house through TV removed money from your pockets,cupboards,lockers& left you only in your socks"

It was an indirect attack in opposition to the Modi-led government for taking demonetization step and hastily imposed of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
