Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam accused and fugitive diamond businessman Nirav Modi has been on the government's target for a long time. Nirav is accused of embezzling about Rs 14,000 crore. Explain that the auction of 112 items seized by the Enforcement Directorate from Nirav Modi's house fetched more than Rs 53 crore. The highest bid was Rs 14 crore for Amrita Shergill's painting and Rs 12 crore for MF Hussain's painting. No painting of Hussain was bid so far.

A total of Rs 53,45,02,820 was received from these auctions, while the estimate was only Rs 40 crore. The live auction included 13 paintings, two sculptures, 10 wrist watches, 13 ladies bags, a gents bag and a Rolls Royce car. Apart from the country, people from America and Dubai also participated. A total of Rs 51,40,70,000 was collected from the 40 items auctioned on Thursday. The online auction fetched Rs 2,04,32,820.

Oil painting boy with lemons made in 1935 by noted painter Amrita Shergill got the highest bid of Rs 14 crore. 12 crore bid for MF Hussain's painting Battle of Ganga Jamuna, Mahabharata 12. Thus this painting became the most expensive artwork of Hussain. In this auction, the lowest bid of 2.20 lakhs was for bags of hermes. The 2010 model's Rolls Royce car sold for Rs 1.50 crore.
