The government of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh has banned the operation of hookah bars in the state. Giving yet another sign of the gradual move towards prohibition, it has decided to close 49 shops of English liquor. The date of purchase of paddy has also been extended by five days in view of the politics that has heated up on paddy.

The above decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held on Saturday late evening under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. There was a complaint about the hookah bar that there is a presence in the hookah bar from school children to minor children. This has a wrong effect in society. Taking a gradual step towards prohibition, it has also been decided to close 49 English liquor shops across the state. Last year, 50 liquor shops were closed.

Even after six years, the royalty rates of the mineral have not been revised, the mineral producing states get a royalty. The rates of this royalty are revised every third year. The central government has not made any changes in the rates since September 2014. Due to this, all mineral producing states including Chhattisgarh are being harmed.
