Amravati Joint Action Committee has called a shutdown in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh. The reason for calling off the committee is against the lathicharge made by the police on the farmers. Let us tell you that all 29 villages are participating in this bandh. Let me tell you that on Monday late night, the bill for the formation of three capital was passed by the Jaganmohan Reddy government in the Andhra Assembly. There is a lot of protest in the state.

According to the Andhra Pradesh government, the bill proposes to make Amravati the legislative capital, Visakhapatnam as the working capital and Kurnool as the judicial capital, to fulfill the aspirations of all regions. Not a problem. The state needs development and welfare programs. It is not possible to spend millions - crores on capital alone. I won 151 seats with the support of all castes, all are equal for me. I want to develop all areas.

For your information, let us tell you that farmers have continued their protest in 29 villages of Amravati. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy assured him that his government would do justice to him. He announced to extend the annuity payment period from 10 years to 15 years for the farmers who gave their land to the capital. Sheer of the erstwhile Telugu Desam Party declared it 10 years. The government also decided to increase the earlier grant for farmers from Rs 2500 to Rs 5000 per month.
