In fresh trouble for Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah over molestation of New Year’s eve, and women’s safety, the National Commission for Women (NCW) is set to issue a show cause notice to him, seeking an explanation for the December 31 reshuffle of IPS officers that left the police force in some confusion.

According to reports Sushma Sahu, member of NCW clarified that the commission was taking serious notice of all the molestation incidents in the city since December 31 and demanding effective intervention from the state government and the city police.

She also pointed out that the incidents and the subsequent reactions from the authorities had dented the image of Bengaluru as an IT and education hub both in the national and international circuits.

Sahu was here in the city on Monday and met OM Prakash, Director General and Inspector General of Police, Karnataka, along with Praveen Sood, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, and Malini Krishnamoorthy, Additional Commissioner, Bengaluru city (West), in connection with the ongoing probe on sexual offences and molestation of women in the city since December 31.
