On Friday, in the 1984 Sikh riot case, there was an important hearing in the Supreme Court. The court said that in relation to the 1984 Sikh riot cases, Justice (retd) Shiva Narayan Dhingra will consider the report submitted by the Special Investigation Team in a sealed cover. This case was earlier closed by the CBI for a lack of evidence.

In the 1984 anti-Sikh riot case, Justice Dhingra-led SIT submitted its report to the Supreme Court. 186 cases related to this riot were closed due to lack of evidence, after which the victims reached the Supreme Court. The court had formed the SIT to reopen the closed case, which is headed by former Justice Dhingra. The committee has submitted its report to the Supreme Court. The case will be heard on 19 November.
