After the Nirbhaya incident of India, many policies were made. The 'Nirbhaya Fund' was also set up to help the victims of rape and ensure their rehabilitation. According to the media report, if it was done during the year 2015 to 2018, then during this period an allocation of Rs 854.6 crore was made in the Nirbhaya Fund, but out of this amount, only Rs 165.4 crore was spent by the states and union territories. Initially, in 2013-14, where this amount was 1000 crore rupees, in 2014-15, the same amount was added to this fund. After this, in 2016-17 and 2017-18, each year Rs 550 crore went to the fund. Currently, in the Union Budget for the year 2018-19, Rs 50 crore has been allocated in this fund.

Mainly 'Nirbhaya fund' had provision for spending on schemes like Emergency Response Support System, Central Victim Compensation Fund, Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children, One Stop Scheme, Women Police Volunteer. But there are many states which have also funded this fund. Not a single rupee was considered necessary to spend on these schemes. The most surprising thing is that the state in which this incident of humanity and cruelty occurred, that state has also used only 0.84% of this amount. West Bengal is also behind Delhi by using 0.76% share.
