Dehradun: Abhinav Yadav, accused of rape, was hanged in the lockup of Sahaspur police station earlier. This has been revealed in the post-mortem report of the Medical Board. However, the board has also preserved the detailed report. No injury marks have been found on his body. It is evident that there was no assault on him in the police station premises. Abhinav, who was caught on charges of raping a minor girl, died in Sahaspur police station on Friday night. The accused hanged on a noose inside the lockup. Police conducted Panchayatnama of Abhinav's body in the presence of the magistrate.

Even at that time, no bruises on the body were recorded in the Panchayatnama. Due to death in police custody, the medical board had done the post-mortem of the body between the videography. The post-mortem report of the Medical Board was received by the police late evening. SSP Arun Mohan Joshi said that after studying the report, there has been hanging in the PM report. That is, Abhinav hanged himself. No injury marks have been found on his body in the report. He told that a magisterial inquiry has also started. CCTV footage of the police station has already been handed over.

The lockup was made: According to sources, the lockup of Sahaspur police station in which accused Abhinav had hanged it was actually a storehouse (Malakhana). The old lockup was very bad. The station house was used it as an open lockup. There was already a nail inside due to the storehouse. Nail went unnoticed while turning Maalkhana into a lockup. Abhinav got his eye on entering the lockup. Taking advantage of this, the accused was successful in his intentions.
