The High Court has made scathing remarks about the construction of the closed Sanwer jail. The court said that the state government is wasting public money. After spending 17 crores 91 lakhs, the project suddenly stopped. The construction that has taken place is also shabby. This is a very serious matter. Principal Secretary (Home) should give detailed information on the affidavit in this regard in two weeks.

The High Court has given this order in the public interest litigation regarding the work that was closed in the Sanwer jail. The petition has been filed by Advocate Abhijeet Yadav. After hearing on February 18, the court reserved the order which was issued on Friday. In a two-page order, the court said that it is very serious that after spending crores, the government suddenly stopped the jail project. It is not even known why this decision was taken.

The Chief Secretary should submit a detailed reply with an affidavit regarding the decision of the Cabinet to approve the proposal, sign the MoU, construct it and stop the work suddenly. If the affidavit does not come in two weeks, the principal secretary will have to appear in the court himself. The Housing Board said that the Housing Board's reply has come in the petition. The board told the court that the cabinet had approved the construction of the Central Jail in 2002. An MoU was also signed in this regard on 25 October 2002.
