Cochin (Kerala): The Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology (NIETT) of the Indian Navy, based at Naval Base Cochin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (Calicut) (IIM-K), on Wednesday, April 20.
Professor Debashis Chatterjee, director of IIM-K, and Commodore Ben H Berson, director of NIETT, signed the agreement.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to foster collaboration and best practise exchange in the fields of instructional leadership, educational psychology, and management.
As NIETT commemorates 50 years of service to the country, the Southern Naval Command believes that the MoU will result in an exchange of skills in the field of educational management, including research, teaching, and training, "which will benefit the Institute's participants."
The Kochi campus of IIM-K will work with the Navy's main training institute to enlist the help of the best in the industry and higher education to improve the Navy's training procedures, achieve excellence, and increase the defence participants' current learning skills. It also gives NIETT instructors and chosen Naval officers the opportunity to engage in and train in an appropriate management programmes at IIM-K. The MoU will be in place for three years at first, with the option to extend it.
