The contract between the UP Industrial Expressway Authority and the Navy's Naval Innovation and Industrialization Organization will be helpful in the Defense Industrial Corridor being built in the state.
With the technical guidance of the Navy, the defence sector units established will be able to produce as per the requirement. This will also encourage indigenization in the Indian Navy as well. A Navy unit is expected to be established in the Defense sector. Union Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh has decided to manufacture 101 products of the defense sector in the country under 'Make in India' campaign and Self-reliant India campaign.
Domestic defence units will receive orders of about four lakh crore rupees. In this direction, UP has taken a very fast step. This led to a contract between UPDA and Naval Innovation and Industrialization Organization at a function held at the CM's official residence on Thursday, which was signed by UPDA's Chief Executive Officer Avnish Kumar Awasthi.
