Chhattisgarh has been in the grip of Naxalites for many years. In the interval of some time, there has been some incident in the CG. Naxalites are extorting money from villagers in the name of party fund in the forests of South Bastar of Chhattisgarh. The Naxalites issued a decree warning that if you want to live in the village, then you will have to pay 50 rupees every month. The troubled villagers are demanding the police to open a force camp around the village.

For your information, let us tell you that if the camp opens, then this business of illegal extortion of Naxalites within a radius of around ten km stops. This is the reason that Naxalites are constantly opposing new camps. It has been reported from some villages of Konta block that the tribals who have only hard labor as a means of living, also have to pay 50 rupees every month to the Naxal party. If a family is not able to pay extortion money in a month, then it has to pay double amount next month.

Due to increasing pressure from the administration and police, Naxalites are not getting new cadres. So now they are pressurizing every household to include a boy or girl in their team. Police has strong information about these things. That is why the police are constantly opening camps in the interiors. In Naxal areas, contractors, tendupatta buyers, bus operators, traders doing haat bazaars etc. are forced to pay Naxalite extortion to all. The police also know this but the problem is that no one can be bothered until security can be arranged. The only solution to this is that the police access to such areas should be increased.
