Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Women's Commission, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the increasing crime against women in India at this time. She has asked the Prime Minister to take strong action to stop the crime against women.

Necessary amendments should be made in the laws for this. Appeals and hearings must be completed within six months in the case of rape. Till the time limit is not mentioned in the law, the crimes against women will continue to be like this.
Apart from this, Swati Maliwal has written in the letter that sufficient number of police force should be made available to all states. There is a shortage of 66 thousand policemen in Delhi for the last 13 years. The Ministry of Home Affairs immediately made 66000 police available to Delhi.He wrote in the letter that the Nirbhaya fund has not yet been properly utilized. Hundreds of crores which could have been used to save girls and women are locked in the treasury of the state governments, besides they have also demanded to fix the accountability of the police. The central government should take initiative to modernize the police. Swati said that it is expected that the central government will consider their demands and take appropriate decision.
