The electricity connection of Kothi (House) located in Badlapur of Anand Kumar, brother of former Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party national president Mayawati, was cut. The connection was restored after paying the outstanding bill of 67 thousand rupees on Wednesday. Although a video has also gone viral in which departmental employees are seen to be cutting the connection due to the unpaid bill, but departmental officials are avoiding saying anything on it.

His brother Anand Kumar has a kothi in Badlapur village. Former Chief Minister Mayawati also has a strong attachment to this village as it is her ancestral village. In Kothi, an electricity connection has been taken in the name of Anand Kumar. According to departmental officials, electricity bills were not paid for the last four months. Due to this, the electricity bill had become outstanding by 67 thousand rupees. The department had cut the connection on Tuesday for non-payment of bills. On Wednesday, the bill was paid in two instalments of 50 thousand and seventeen thousand rupees. However, a video related to this is also going viral, in which departmental employees are seen to be cutting the connection when the bill is outstanding.

Mukesh Mukim, SDO of Dhummanikpur Electricity Block, says that there is an electricity connection in the name of Anand Kumar in Kothi located in Badlapur. A bill of 67 thousand rupees was outstanding on this. There was a warning to disconnect the connection if the bill is not paid. After this, the bill has been paid in two instalments. However, he refused to say anything about the viral video.
