Chennai: The possibility of another cyclone in Milanadu has become stronger. This will be the second cyclonic storm in the state in a week. NDRF teams have taken a stand in the coastal areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu in view of the possibility of cyclonic storm 'Burevi'. According to the information given by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the area of deep pressure on the Bay of South West Bengal has strengthened and took the form of cyclonic storm 'Burevi' on Tuesday.

According to IMD, it is likely to cross the Sri Lankan coast on December 2. During this time wind can move at a speed of 75 to 85 km per hour. According to the Meteorological Department, after reaching Sri Lanka's Trincomalee, Burevi is expected to move towards the Comorin area around the Gulf of Mannar and around Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. The department said that after that it will move towards west-southwest and cross the south Tamil Nadu coast between Kanyakumari and Pamban on the morning of December 4.

The department had earlier said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in some places in South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala on December 3. Last week, very severe cyclone 'Nivar' came in Tamil Nadu.
