Today we are going to share with you the recipe of South delicious dish Nei Appam.
necessary ingredients :
1 cup raw rice
3/4 cup jaggery
2 small bananas
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp coconut, grated
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tsp ghee / oil
Preparation method:
First of all, soak rice in water for 3 hours. Now mix the jaggery in water and heat it till it dissolves completely. Then filter it and turn it aside. Now remove the rice water and grind it with jaggery water and make a paste. Add water if needed. Then add banana to the paste of rice and jaggery and mix it well, then flip this paste once or twice in a bowl. You check the consistency of the paste. Keep in mind that the paste should be as thick as the dosa batter, now add grated coconut and cardamom powder and mix the batter well. Now keep the batter aside for 2 hours for the yeast to rise. Then add baking soda to it and mix the batter well before frying. Now heat the appam pan and apply ghee in each of its holes. Then pour the batter into each hole. Now when one side is cooked, then flip the other side comfortably. Cook it till both sides are dark brown. Serve it hot.
