Kochi: On November 18, K Surendran, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala, demanded the resignation of Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan, who sparked outrage with his pro-Hamas speech and a call for the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Surendran stated that Unnithan, by sympathizing with the terror outfit, should be booked by the state police for his inflammatory remarks.

Surendran expressed his condemnation, stating, “People like Unnithan are inhumane.” He criticized the Congress party for remaining silent on the killings of Christians in Azerbaijan, Nigeria, and Yemen. Taking to social media, Surendran emphasized that Unnithan's speech was not just political discourse but resembled jihadist extremism.

In a post on X, Surendran called for immediate legal action against such radical rhetoric, emphasizing the need to prevent the spread of terrorist ideology. He highlighted Unnithan's inflammatory comments made during a Palestine rally and stated that it was essential to address this dangerous incitement.

The controversy arose when Rajmohan Unnithan, Congress MP from Kasargod, claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal conducting genocide in Palestine. Unnithan's remarks, made during an anti-Israel demonstration hosted by the Kasaragod United Muslim Jama-ath, have drawn criticism, with calls for his resignation and legal action against the radical rhetoric.
