Louis van Gaal, coach of the Netherlands' national football team, has made a shocking revelation that he is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer but still wants to lead the team in the World Cup in Qatar in November.  

Van Gaal said on a TV show on Sunday night that his players do not know he is fighting a serious illness and that he has also undergone treatment at night during four practice camps. He has said that "You can't tell the people you're working with about this kind of disease because it will affect their choice, their energy and I thought they shouldn't know.'' 

Van Gaal has said that he has undergone 25 radiation therapies so far. The 70-year-old coach said, "I go to the hospital all the time in the evening or at night and I don't let the players know about it. Van Gaal's first wife also died of cancer.''
