Lockdown in Aluva area of Kerala, new guidelines issued

Kerala: In view of increasing cases of corona infection in the state, the Kerala government has imposed curfew in the Aluva area of Ernakulam on Wednesday night. Curfew has also been imposed in Aluva municipality and the remaining 6 panchayats within the area. On Wednesday, Kerala has revealed 1,038 new cases. Referring to the maximum number of cases in a single day so far, CM Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the state government is thinking of implementing a complete lockdown in the state which has just been installed in some places. On Wednesday, the total number of cases in the state has been reported as 15,032.

S. Suhas, chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority and District Collector, Ernakulam, issued a notification saying that only necessary activities would be allowed. It has been written in this notification that people have to stay indoors and the movement of people is strictly prohibited. There will be a ban on the purchase of services other than medical goods and essential items.

Public exams will be suspended in all educational national institutions within the regulation area. It said in this notification, 'All the offices of the Government of India and all other offices will be closed. Defence, Central Armed Police Forces, public utilities (including petroleum, CNG, LPG, PNG), disaster management, power generation and transmission units, post offices, banks, National Informatics Center, early warning agencies will all continue to work. 'The District Collector has given permission to the banks to work with most of the fifty percent of the total employees from 10 am to 2 pm.
