New Delhi: An application has been made to open new liquor shops at the domestic terminal of Delhi airport. If this application is approved, liquor shops can also be seen at the domestic terminals of Delhi Airport. For this, two more corporations, including the Tourism Department, have applied to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). However, after the repeal of the controversial excise policy 2021-22 in Delhi, no shop has been opened at the airport under the old excise policy implemented from this month.

According to Delhi government officials, the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) as well as the Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited (DSCSC) have approached the airport authority for approval to open liquor shops in terminals at the airport. According to officials, the decision to open liquor shops at terminals is now in its initial stages and a result will be drawn soon.

According to media reports, another airport official has said that no decision has been taken yet, but those who have a license to open liquor shops at the airport have been given NOC, layout plan and permission. He said, "If these people satisfy the criteria, the airport authority will give the approval to open liquor shops".
