GANDHINAGAR:The new National Education Policy (NEP) has been widely accepted by all and the whole country is working to implement it, in contrast to previous NEPs that caused controversy due to ideological ties, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.

Addressing graduating students at the fourth convocation of the Central University of Gujarat on March 19, Amit Shah said that the new National Education Policy 2020 will work to bring education out of the scope of narrow thinking, and teachers must read it "between the lines" to know its implications.

"Historically, debates over educational policies have dragged on for years. In the past, there have been two NEPs, both of which have been dogged with controversy. Also, numerous commissions were established between them to carry out educational changes, but they were always dogged by disputes "  Shah said.

"Yet, no one could object to or level accusations against the educational strategy that Narendra Modi purchased in 2022. In a sense, the entire society has embraced it, and the entire nation is pushing forward to put it into practise " he said.

The Union minster urged educators to pay close attention to the New Education Policy since it was only through reading it "between the lines" that they could comprehend its consequences.
He said, the education strategy will free Indian education from the confines of constrictive thinking and give students a voice from early life all the way through their schooling.

"This approach allows you the option to become a complete human, which is the goal of education. The goal of the new education programme is to produce citizens who are filled with feelings of both national and global pride "said he.
He also urged the graduating class to make at least one commitment to the nation's celebration of its centennial 25 years from now.  "That will be enough to make the country great if 130 crore individuals make a vow each. The nation will take 130 billion steps if each of its 130 billion citizens takes one step "said the home minister.

He said, the Modi government has worked to increase employment, and thanks to its startup strategy, there will be more than 70,000 jobs available in 2022, up from 724 in 2016–17.  Up to 107 Indian start-ups have achieved unicorn status. He also noted that more patent applications were filed in the years 2021–22, that is p from 3,000 in 2014.
