The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made a big change in the rules related to Fastag account, which is a relief news for car drivers. Now the Fastag account has been included in the e-mandate framework. This means that now even if the money in the Fastag account runs out, you will not need to stand in line at the toll plaza. Money will be automatically transferred from your bank account to the Fastag account.

What is the new e-Mandate Framework?

The Reserve Bank of India has made changes in the e-mandate framework on January 22. Under this change, the rule of automatic recharge has now been implemented in Fastag and National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). According to this, the user will get a notification 24 hours in advance for the account from which money will be added to the Fastag account. Only after this the money will be deducted from your account and added to the Fastag account.

Minimum amount limit in Fastag account

As per this new rule, you will have to set a minimum limit of amount in your Fastag account. When you reach the limit, the money will be automatically deducted from your bank account and added to the Fastag account. This will ensure that there is always sufficient balance in your Fastag account and you will be able to pass through the toll plaza without any interruption.

There will be relief from long queues at toll plazas

Till now, if there was no money in your Fastag account or you forgot to recharge, then you had to stand in a long queue to pay the money at the toll plaza. But due to this new rule of RBI, this problem will be solved. Due to the facility of automatic recharge, the user will also get relief from the hassle of recharging the Fastag account.

New KYC guidelines

Apart from this, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued new guidelines related to KYC for Fastag users. If a Fastag user's account is five years or older, he will need to update his account. Apart from this, users whose accounts have completed three years will have to get KYC done again. If the user does not do so, his account will be blacklisted. The government has set October 31 as the last date for getting KYC done.

With the new rules and e-mandate framework in Fastag, your journey at toll plazas will now become even more convenient. With the facility of automatic recharge and new KYC guidelines, you will be able to travel without any hassle and update your Fastag account on time.
