Sidhi: A bus carrying about 54 passengers fell into the canal from the bridge yesterday morning near Patna village under Rampur Naikin police station area in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, which has killed more than 48 people so far. The bus fell into the canal due to the driver losing control of the bus. According to eyewitnesses, this bus full of passengers fell into the canal at around 7.30 am on Tuesday morning and was completely submerged in water. This bus is not even visible from the banks of the canal. It is feared that it has been swept away in the fast flow of the canal and the rescue teams are busy searching for this bus in the deepwater of the canal.

Passengers rescued discloses the story: The passenger said that the bus was running at a very high speed during the accident and its driver jumped from there before falling into the canal. Before the jump, he also told people to save their lives. Vibha Prajapati, who is going to Satna to recruit ANM (female health worker), said, “The bus was flooded and people tried to break the glass of the windows of the bus to save themselves, but they failed. My brother was also on this bus with me and I tried to save my brother too, but now where he is, I do not know. I had even brought my brother up to the halfway point in the canal, but later he remained behind.


Vibha Prajapati said that this bus was packed and at least 15 to 20 passengers were standing. In some seats, we were made sitting 2-3 people. Similarly, there were more than 55 passengers on the bus. Some people got down in Churhat because there was no seat for them to sit. Churhat is situated between Sidhi and Satna. The eyewitness of the incident Shivrani Lonia told the media that the bus was moving very fast and it slipped off the road and got into the canal. I saw this whole accident. When this bus fell into the canal, at that time my brother and I was standing near the canal. As soon as we saw this bus falling into the canal, my brother and I immediately jumped into the canal to save the people and saved two people.
