New York's Times Square Lights Up for Ram Temple Consecration Celebration

Times Square, New York is set to broadcast the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya today. This special event will be commemorated with live streaming in one of the busiest spots in New York City. The festivities began on Sunday when Sony showcased the Srimad Ramayana in Times Square. Various temples across the United States are also preparing for the consecration ceremony, anticipating the participation of thousands of Indian Americans in a series of events.

Car rallies are planned in over 20 cities across the US, including San Francisco, to mark this significant occasion. The largest car rally is expected to take place in the Bay Area, California, with over 600 cars participating. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America has taken outdoor spaces in different parts of the country to showcase the Ram temple consecration ceremony on large billboards in cities like Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles.

In the heart of Times Square, amidst chants of 'Jai Shri Ram,' hundreds of Lord Ram devotees gathered to celebrate, playing dhols, distributing sweets, singing bhajans, and dancing. The eagerly awaited 'Pran Pratishtha' of the Ram Lalla idol will occur today in Ayodhya, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various dignitaries in attendance.

Times Square was ablaze with festivities as the Indian diaspora, dressed in traditional attire, passionately chanted bhajans and songs, showcasing India's rich cultural heritage, vibrancy, and unity. The Consulate General of India in New York shared several pictures of this grand celebration at Times Square, describing it as a spectacular showcase of the Pran-Prathistha at Ram Mandir, Ayodhya.
