Ayodhya is buzzing with religious fervor as it prepares to make history with the grand 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple today.

Scheduled for Paush Shukla Kurma Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080,today the day will kick off with a morning puja, followed by the Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla in the 'Mrigashira Nakshatra' from 12:30 pm to 1 pm.

The event will witness the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Representatives from various tribal communities and people from all walks of life will also attend, with the Prime Minister addressing the gathering.

The ceremonial journey leading to the Pran Pratistha began with a seven-day ritual on January 16, featuring an atonement ceremony with a 'purifying bath' in the river Sarayu conducted by Anil Mishra, a trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

Rituals included worship of Lord Vishnu, offerings of Panchgavya and ghee, 'Karmakuti Homa,' and recitation of Valmiki Ramayana and Bhusundiramayana. The culmination of the process involves 121 Acharyas overseeing the ceremony, with Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid as the chief coordinator and Laxmikant Dixit of Kashi as the Chief Acharya.

After the Pran Pratistha, the dignitaries will have darshan, creating enthusiasm not just in Ayodhya but across the country. The ceremony, attended by over 150 traditions and 50 tribal communities, is a historic moment transcending religious boundaries, uniting followers of various traditions.

Gifts from different states, including water, soil, gold, silver, gems, clothes, jewelry, bells, drums, and fragrance items, have been contributed. Notably, gifts from Goddess Sita's maternal homes in Janakpur, Nepal, and Sitamarhi, Bihar, symbolize a cross-border connection.

Earlier, on January 19, the idol of Shri Ram Lalla, carved by sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was placed inside the temple. Viral images of the idol with uncovered eyes were dismissed by the chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, who emphasized that the eyes would not be revealed until the completion of 'Pran Pratishtha.'

The temple, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, boasts intricate sculptures of Hindu deities, with the main sanctum housing the idol of Shri Ramlalla. The temple complex includes five Mandaps, a historic well (Sita koop), and the restored ancient temple of Lord Shiv at Kuber Tila.

Built with indigenous technology, the temple complex has modern amenities, including a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, and an independent power station. The Supreme Court's unanimous decision on November 9, 2019, paved the way for the construction of the temple on the disputed site in Ayodhya, ending a centuries-old dispute.
