The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in India on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against 12 people arrested for helping the Islamic State militants. All of them are accused of fraudulently buying ISIS terrorists and SIM cards used for their activities.

The 12 accused who helped the terrorists are Pachaiyappan (37), A. Rajesh (34), Anbarsan T (27), Abdul Rahman (44), Liaquat Ali (29), Mohammad Hanif Khan (29), Imran Khan (32), Mohammad Zaid (24), Ejaz Pasha (46), Hussain Sharif (33), Khaja Mohideen (52) and Mahboob Pasha (48). Charges have been made under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The NIA release stated, 'investigation of the case has revealed that after being released on bail, Khaija Mohideen, the main conspirator and ISIS militant in the murder of a Hindu leader in February 2019, along with Liaquat Ali Plotted with the intention of furthering the activities of ISIS in India. Between September and December 2019, he bought a large number of fraudulently activated SIM cards from accused Anbarasan and accused Abdul Rahman in Chennai apart from accused Pachayappan and accused Rajesh'. The agency said that Mohideen radicalized his associates Hanif, Imran, Zaid, Ejaz, Sharif, and Mehboob from the violent extremist ideology of ISIS and together with them conspired to carry forward the activities of the terrorist group in India.
