Chennai:  The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at multiple locations in Tamil Nadu, including Trichy, Coimbatore, Tenkasi, and Sivaganga, targeting members of the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) party. The searches were carried out on suspicions of attempts to revive the Sri Lankan militant group LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) and receiving foreign funding for activities against the national interest. The NIA also focused on NTK functionary and YouTuber Saatai Duraimurugan during the operation. The official statement from the NIA regarding the searches is awaited.

In response to the raids, NTK functionaries have approached the Madras High Court. The hearing is scheduled to take place soon. It's noteworthy that Seeman, the chief of NTK, is a prominent leader in the state. The NIA's actions underline the government's concerns over potential links to activities that threaten national security and its resolve to address such issues through legal means.

The NTK, led by Seeman, holds significance in Tamil Nadu politics, and the searches could have broader implications on the political landscape. The move aligns with the government's commitment to tackling any activities with alleged ties to militant groups and foreign funding, ensuring a thorough investigation into potential threats to national security. The outcome of the court hearing and subsequent developments will be crucial in understanding the implications and responses from both the NTK and the authorities.
