NIA tightens its grip on D company, 2 associates of Dawood and Chhota Shakeel arrested

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken a big action against the Dawood gang. It is reported that NIA has arrested two suspects in the case of D Company related to Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. These suspects will be presented in the special court of NIA on Friday. This week, the NIA had searched around 29 places. Both the arrested suspects are associates of Chhota Shakeel.

According to media reports, the arrested accused have been identified as 59-year-old Arif Abubakar Sheikh and 59-year-old Shabbir Abubakar Sheikh. A senior NIA official has told that, "Both were involved in handling illegal activities of D Company and terror financing in the western suburbs of Mumbai." It is reported that Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice against Chhota Shakeel, who runs International Syndicate from Pakistan. He is involved in drug smuggling and terrorist activities.

According to the media report, an official has told that, 'Investigation has revealed that Dawood gang is operating the entire syndicate from across the border. We have already called 21 people for their roles. According to the officials involved in the investigation team, Chhota Shakeel's relatives Salim Qureshi alias Salim Fruit, Suhail Khandwani, Sameer Hingorani, alleged hawala operators Abdul Qayyum, Ajay Gosalia, Mobida Bhiwandiwala, Guddu Pathan and Aslam Sarodia are in the eyes of the NIA.
