Patna: After the expansion of Nitish cabinet, 12 MLCs have been appointed from the governor's quota. In fact, 6-6 seats have been agreed to in 12 seats in BJP and JD (U). The governor has approved the list of 12 names as soon as the cabinet approves it. It was approved by the Nitish cabinet last Tuesday. There are five categories of posts in the Bihar Legislative Council and 27 MLCs are elected from the assembly quota. There are 24 seats of the local authority quota. With this, 6 seats are of graduates and 6 seats are of teacher quota. There are 12 seats of the governor's nomination quota and people coming from the fields of art, science, social service, and literature are nominated by the governor.

The cabinet has given huge discounts to the industries producing ethanol. With this, the new ethanol production incentive policy has also been approved. In fact, the Patna University Amendment Bill 2021 and the Patna University Army Commission's Amendment Bill 2021 have also been approved by the Cabinet. Further, the Chief Minister's self-help allowance scheme has been implemented for five years.
