Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has sharply criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his continued silence on the assault of AAP MP Swati Maliwal. She described Kejriwal's lack of response as "unbelievable and unacceptable," emphasizing that he has not addressed the incident even as he moves around with the accused Bibhav Kumar, despite promises from his party to take action.

Sitharaman squarely blamed Kejriwal for the incident, stating, "The women in Delhi are asking - can this CM even provide security to the women in the city? Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for this incident." She also questioned the delay in Swati Maliwal filing a police complaint, suggesting possible pressure on her.

Meanwhile, Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Kejriwal, did not appear before the National Commission for Women (NCW) as summoned. NCW Chief Rekha Sharma revealed that a team had visited Kumar's residence to serve him a notice, but he was not present.

The incident has sparked a political firestorm, with Sitharaman's statements intensifying the pressure on Kejriwal and his administration over their handling of the case.
