Patna: In Bihar politics, JDU and RJD may be opposed to each other, but both parties appear in unison on the issue of caste census. State CM Nitish Kumar will meet PM Modi on August 23 with the leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav as well as leaders of all parties in Bihar to press for a caste census. The Modi government is not willing to conduct the caste census. It will be interesting to see what political turmoil Nitish and Tejashwi do on this issue.

It may be recalled that the census is scheduled to be held in the country this year for which all parties except BJP are demanding caste census in Bihar. On the same issue, a delegation of all party leaders led by CM Nitish Kumar will meet PM Narendra Modi at 11 am on August 23. The delegation will also have the leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav along with CM Nitish. Apart from JDU and RJD, leaders of Congress, LEFT, US, and VIP will also meet PM Modi along.

In fact, during the monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly, several opposition leaders, including Tejashwi, had met CM Nitish Kumar and spoke on the issue of conducting the caste census. Nitish Kumar had written to PM Modi seeking an appointment on the demand of opposition parties on which he has been given 11 am from PMO on August 23.
