No new corona case has been reported in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar in the last 24 hours. A total of 7,548 persons have been found infected in the state so far, the health officer said on Friday. The number of active patients is six, all six patients are in the South Andaman district. There is no corona case in the other two districts of North and Central Andaman and Nicobar.

The officer said a total of 7,413 people have recovered from the infection so far. There have been no cases of corona death in the last 24 hours, so the total number of deaths is 129. So far, 4,56,247 samples have been tested for corona. The rate of infection is 1.65 percent. He said a total of 3,13,490 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Andaman and Nicobar so far. Out of these, 2,16,719 persons have been given the first dose of the corona vaccine while 96,771 persons have been given the second dose.

In India, with 40,120 new corona cases in a day, the total number of corona infection cases increased to 3,21,17,826, while the recovery rate of infected patients increased to 97.46 percent, the highest ever. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, the death toll due to infection has increased to 4,30,254 with 585 more deaths. The number of active patients fell to 3,85,227, up from 1.20 percent of the total cases of infection. This is the lowest since March last year. According to the ministry, the national rate of recovery from corona is 97.46 percent.
