Jammu: The video of the surrender of a terrorist in front of security forces in the encounter in Jammu and Kashmir is going viral. This video has been released by the army. The 20-year-old man, who had recently become a terrorist got arrested, an AK-47 assault rifle has recovered from him. The terrorist has been identified as Jahangir Bhat. In the video released by the army, a soldier is shown wearing combat safety gear. He is seen talking to a man coming from a garden. Soon, the terrorist, with his hands in the air, appears to approach the soldier, who assures him of no harm.

"No one will shoot," he tells his colleagues. "Nothing will happen to you son," the soldier is heard saying in the video that the terrorist is wearing only pants, he is seated on the soil of the garden, "Give him water," the soldier continues. It is revealed that in another video clip released by the army, the man's father is thanking the security forces for saving his son, "Do not let him go to the terrorists again". he said.

Speaking to the media, Lieutenant General BS Raju, GOC 15 Corps said that he was happy that the security forces left him alive and saved one life. The army said in a statement, "On 13 October, it was reported that an SPO (Special Police Officer) escaped with two AK-47s (rifles). On the same day, Jahangir Ah Bhat was also reported missing. The family was trying to locate the person. This person was detected in a joint operation this morning. As per protocol, the Indian Army made efforts to convince the person to surrender. The person surrendered." In his statement further, "Jahangir's father was present at the time and the effect of efforts to bring the youth back from the path of terror was visible. The Indian Army is constantly making efforts to stop terrorist recruitment and is providing options for youth to get back in case of involvement in terror. "
