Ahmedabad: All political parties have geared up for next month's assembly elections in Gujarat. Meanwhile, villagers of 17 other villages under Ancheli and Navsari assembly constituencies have hung posters to boycott the polls and ban the entry of leaders of political parties. These have prevented the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from entering villages for campaigning.

The villagers have decided to boycott the election as their demand to stop the local trains at Ancheli Railway Station has not been fulfilled yet. These posters, near Ancheli railway station and in the villages, read, 'No train, no vote, BJP or other political parties don't come here for campaigning, we are boycotting the election'.

Hitesh Nayak, a young man, has said that people from at least 18 villages in the constituency have boycotted this election. Their demand is for stoppage of the train, which used to stop here before the Corona epidemic. Now, people are facing problems as those who are regular commuters are now forced to take private vehicles and have to spend around Rs 300 per day.
