
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy) has announced that nominations are now open for the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards for 2025. These awards aim to recognize people and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to spreading and developing Yoga, both in India and around the world. The awards highlight Yoga’s powerful impact on health and wellness.
Honoring Contributions to Yoga
The Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards aims to appreciate those who have worked hard to promote Yoga. They focus on the importance of Yoga in preventing diseases, promoting good health, and managing lifestyle issues. By honoring these efforts, the awards help remind all of the big benefits Yoga brings to people’s lives.
Supported by the Prime Minister, these awards show the government’s support for Yoga as an important part of health. The awards will be given in many categories: National Individual, National Organization, International Individual, and International Organization. Each winner will receive a trophy, certificate, and a cash prize of Rs 25/- lakh. This recognition not only celebrates the winners but also promotes others to get involved in promoting Yoga.
Eligibility and How to Apply
To be eligible for the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards, the applicants must be at least 40 years age and have at least 20 years of experience in promoting Yoga. Applications and nominations can be submitted via the MyGov platform, with the lastdate by March 31, 2025. The application link will also be available on the Ministry of Ayush’s website and the websites of its associated bodies.
Applicants can apply directly or be nominated by a recognized Yoga organization. Each applicant or nominee can only apply in one category (National or International) yearly. This makes sure that the awards keep up high standards and that deserving individuals and organizations are suitably awarded.
How Nominations are Reviewed?
After nominations are submitted, a Screening Committee from the Ministry of Ayush will review all the applications. The committee will recommend up to 50 nominees per category to the Evaluation panel. The Committe will include experts from various fields to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation process.
The Evaluation Jury will make the final decisions on the winners. Their knowledge and experience will help ensure the most deserving candidates are selected. This process further helps make sure the awards are credible and that the contributions of individuals and organizations are honored at the highest level.
