Hyderabad: 'Namaz' is a prayer that connects a man to Allah and the Qur'an is the word of Allah. Chief guest Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy along with 15 non-Muslims visited Jama Masjid in the new MIG BHEL on Sunday. The visitors were told about the importance of activities performed in the mosques like 'Azan', 'Namaz' and 'Quran'.

Anwar Khan, former principal of Anwar-ul-Uloom College, explained the meaning of 'Namaz' read in it and verses from the Quran and 'Salaam' in Telugu. Explaining the meaning of 'Salaam' he said (Assalaam Alaikum) is nothing but a blessing given by a Muslim to the person from whom he receives.

The MLA said that he was influenced by the teachings of Islam. "It is good to hear that Muslims bless the person they call 'Salaam'. We are unaware of this. I have visited many mosques since childhood, but I am not familiar with the meaning and significance of 'Namaz', 'Quran' Unknown.' and 'Salaam'. He said, "Such activities will help in maintaining peace and brotherhood between the two communities. Activities and interactions should continue to understand each other. Once we understand each other, we can stand together in society."
