LUCKNOW: Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray arrived in Lucknow on Wednesday morning for his scheduled visit to the holy city of Ayodhya.

A big number of Shiva Sainiks greeted Thackrey at the Lucknow airport, carrying party flags, banners, and shouting full-throated chants of 'Jai Shri Ram,'  to which he reciprocated and mentioned he looked forward to his trip to the holy place.

"Ayodhya is a site of pilgrimage for everyone... It has a connection to Lord Ram. I've visited here multiple times in the last couple of years, in both 2018 and 2019. My current visit is solely for the purpose of receiving Ram Lalla's darshan and blessings; it has nothing to do with politics "Thackeray Jr, the son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, made the remark.

Hundreds of Sena activists from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are joining Thackeray Jr. on his high-profile and closely monitored visit, which began with a large convoy leaving Lucknow for Ayodhya.

He would pray at Ram Lalla's shrine, see the forthcoming Lord Ram Temple under construction, and perform 'Saryu aarti' in the evening during his stay in Ayodhya.

On June 6, Sena MP and Chief Spokesperson Sanjay Raut, PWD Minister Eknath Shinde, and others conducted a preparatory tour here, in addition to coordinating with UP Shiv Sena leaders.
